Being a lifelong wrestling fan I encounter a lot of things, normally it is people who don’t understand why I still watch wrestling and why I didn’t “grow out of it” I have no answer other than I love it.

So when a chance came up for me to travel to America to take in my second Wrestlemania live I couldn’t pass it up. After weeks of asking my wife nicely (please replaces asking with begging and nicely with pathetically) it was agreed that if I could save up enough money working overtime I could go, she doubted I would be able to do it… never doubt a determined Wrestling fan!

It got better though, Ring of Honor (one of the best indie Wrestling promotions in the world) each year visits wherever Wrestlemania is held and puts on shows the same weekend. I attended two of their shows in Houston Texas in 2009 and wasn’t going to miss 2012 so as soon as tickets went on sale I purchased front row for both shows in Ft Lauderdale Florida. They were dubbed Showdown in the Sun and I was pretty excited. Then as the event got closer they started announcing matches and I couldn’t believe my luck… The Briscoes (one of ROH’s finest teams and well known for their hard hitting style) had been announced to take on a young Australian team by the name of TMDK – Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls. So my 29 hours of flight from Perth to Florida would bring me front row to see EPW’s own Mikey and Shane in action.

Sometimes things work out pretty awesome! Sadly my camera isn’t the best but still hope you enjoy these pics of TMDK live against the Briscoes at Showdown in The Sun March 30 2012 at ROH in Ft Lauderdale Florida.
